Lloyd is originally from New York. He went to college at the State University of New York at Albany and graduated in 1979. Lloyd then moved to Atlanta and graduated from Emory Law School in 1982. Since that time, Lloyd has represented people who have been injured due to the negligence of others. Today, he continues to do so, along with his son, Alex and his daughter-in-law, Melissa. In 1987, Lloyd, along with his former partner, Tom Tobin, opened United States Mediation & Arbitration, the first full service private Alternative Dispute Resolution group in town. He was trained and practiced extensively as a mediator in addition to trying cases for several years, before leaving the mediation aspect of practice and focusing solely on trying cases. To date, Lloyd has tried in excess of 100 cases to verdict in front of a jury. Lloyd’s mediation and trial experience has resulted in him being a well-known member of Atlanta’s trial bar. He has been voted a Super Lawyer by his peers approximately twenty times.
The firm has developed a culture of preparation, thoroughness and great communication with clients. Many relationships with clients and their families have lasted close to the length of Lloyd’s membership in the State Bar, which now exceeds forty years.
Lloyd is a long-standing member of the State Bar of Georgia, The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association of Justice. He is a graduate of the Keenan Trial Institute and prides himself on being a zealous advocate on behalf of his clients.
